Mr. Paul Adarighofua Oshevire, was born on the 15th of August, 1954, at Edoide, in Agbarha-
Otor Clan, in Ughelli North Local Government, Delta State, Nigeria. From the Nigerian Baptist
Convention (NBC) Primary School, Edjeba, Agbarha-Otor, he proceeded to Academy
Grammar School, Sapele, now called Okotie-Eboh Grammar School, where he obtained the
West African School Certificate (W ASC) in 1970 in Division One. He proceeded straight to
Edo College, Benin-City for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) programme and obtained his
full papers there, in 1972.He later attended the University of Benin, Benin-City and obtained
a B.Ed(Science) in 1978, at Second Class Upper Division. He was a two time Faculty Award
winner, collecting the prize for the overall Best Second Year Student in 1977
and the prize for Overall Best Third and Final Year Student in 1978.
After his NYSC programme at Numan in the then Gongola State, he proceeded to Lagos
where he later pursued and obtained an MP A(Masters in Public Administration), specializing in
Human Resource Management, from the University of Lagos, in 1982. Mr. Oshevire obtained
an LLB (2nd Class Upper), from the Lagos State University, in 2002. Earlier in 1986, he had
obtained a Diploma in Safety Management (Dip.SM) with Distinction, from the British Safety
Council,London, U.K.
He is a member of many professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Management
(Chartered), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Certified Institute of Management,
Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals,
Nigerian Environmental Society etc.
Mr. Oshevire joined the Services of the then NEPA, on the 21st of December, 1983, as a
Senior Personnel Officer.
He worked initially in the Industrial Relations Department until 1991 when he became the
pioneer Head of the Occupational Health and Safety
Department. He literally set up the
Department from the scratch. Having risen up to the position of a Principal Manager by
2001, he was further elevated to the position of an AGM (Finance and Admin)
in August 2001 and deployed to Benin Distribution Zone. He was later redesignated as Head
(Admin and Services) in 2004 under the reform package in PHCN. He got laterally
redeployed to Eko Distribution Zone in September, 2005.
Mr. Oshevire is happily married with Children.
